Work has just been hectic. The usual cheery bunch of people in my office has turn into these lifeless and moody people. All this construction in our office has cause a lot of disuptions and so many changes have happen that it seems sort of surreal that all this is time. We also have 3 people leaving our firm, two of which was in our department. I taken on the additional cases with grace and happy that I now have a variety of attornies and learning more as I go. But I wish one of the cases will go away. It has the most paralegasl on it and it is pretty much mundane, also it was suppose to be gone 2 months ago but it is still here. Even people notice the slight change of my attitude. But when everyone is feeling down, it hard to keep in good spirits. But tomorrow is another day and I will take things day by day.

To A of 208.51.218.66 , who told me that I need to find a job that needs to pay better and offer a better dental plan. I know that and I always have been self concious of that. My family’s needs come first and to get my teeth fix will cost me a lot. In the near future I will do that but how dare you to judge someone on that. You must be one petty, lonely soul who have to hide behind a comment box to voice you pathetic statement. You are a nobody and it my friends and family’s comment that means the most and not yours. I love my job right now and my office that I am sitting in. Unless you are bitter having a small cubicle in the middle of nowhere. So if you don’t want to visit that’s fine by me but you have a retort. Just post it here so other people can see how stupid and petty you are.

For those who been reading my blog, you remember me mentioning about Ching Ming, which is the yearly event for Chinese people to go to the cementaries and pay our respect for our departed ones and ancestors. We burn incensed and clean off the head stones and burn various items, like paper clothes and paper money to our departed ones. Those paper items also has come into advancement for they now have paper computers and paper automoible and houses. The Chinese people believe that burning these items, their essence will go into the underworld and therefore, our departed ones can retrieve them and enjoy their afterlife in peace. The bills comes in million dollar form and gold and silver. Wonder how the inflation rate is like under there?!?!? Oh I can’t say much to the pollution we do by burning these items. The last picture is my family doing some preparations for the cleaning.

Lately, I haven’t been around because I got so many activities happening in my life. But it happens to the best of us.

Nothing much been happening as of lates. Work has been extremely busy and therefore my social life during the week is nil.

But I do have two friends that are in town. Both from Chicago and one of them is a dear friend of mines. We plan to hang out the next few days. So I have something to look forward to.

My final refund check came. So I use part of that money to paid back a loan to my dad and my travel fund to ASIA is now up to 750 dollars. This is the very first time in my life that I ever saved that much money and I am very proud of that fact. This trip is coming true to me and for the first time in my life, 100% finance by me. I am only 20% along the way to my goals but I still 11 months left to save the rest of it. I am on schedule. WOOOHOOO.

Friday the weather was absolutely perfect!!! The rites of spring came early for us and being San Franciscan that we are. We know that this type of weather doesn’t last long and with that knowledge in tow……we learned to SOAK IT UP.

I also wanted to share a shot of the weather for the bay so you guys can have a little taste of that weather for yourselves. But somehow women with umbrella was the norm over here. Here is yet another woman who has a way too small umbrella to shield her from the sun.

For lunch , I met up with a dear friend Grace for a belated birthday lunch for her. Her birthday was last Monday and due to scheduling conflicts, I missed out on her birthday party. So Friday I took her out to Japanese and we caught up with each other. Grace is the type of friend where we can just picked up like we just seen each other yesterday, but it was about 2 and half months that I have last seen her. So her company was truly a joy. We decided also to head over to the Ferry Building for some good gelato with the weather being so perfect. There was so many people soaking up the sun and people genuninely happy to be outside. So there is a few pictures of Grace.

For dinner we went to this cute French style bistro for dinner. My buddy Dorothy brought an old aquaintence of mines who look genuninely shocked that I changed so much since high school. The group was having so much fun catching up and making fun of each other.

These were some of the items that we had. I’ll let you guys figure out what we had and drool over it.

For the people not in the Bay Area. Our summer days has come at the end of winter. While most the country is dealing with the cold and the snow. We are dealing putting on sunscreen and enjoying the sun. Everyone is enjoying the sun as much as we can as we know this won’t be lasting too long. But this unusual warm pattern has driven away the winter blues and enjoying this rather unique rites of spring.

I went to the farmers’ market for lunch and here was some of the pictures that I took while I was there. Let just say some rather unique people were out that day.

Sometimes I feel that I stretch myself way too thin. Planning and replanning events just so I can accomdate everyone. I gotten so busy that I have gotten certain dates mess up lately. That bad, that means I have neglecting the most important person in this world…..myself.

I notice I been looking a little more haggard these day, allegries are constantly with me and my work load has grown a lot in the past few weeks. All this is good news to me as I am so very glad I am working and that is the less of my worries. But I do miss my days of leisure time and planning activities on the whim. But c’est la vie.

The great move happened over this past weekend at my law firm. About 75% of the firm will be moving into new offices. But there must be over a thousand boxes around the office. I am glad that I won’t be moving offices……yet……….

It turns out that one of the senior paralegals are leaving the firm and I got word of another one leaving very soon. So that means there are fewers of us around…..and base on seniority of the paralegals. Also one of the paralegal goes on maternity leave this week and another paralegal got chosen to be on a jury for a MONTH. Tha means a lot more work and stress but on the good note, there will be bigger paralegals’ offices opening up very soon…….judging on the my current cases and some impending new ones coming soon. I need the extra space….hehehehe.

Speaking of jury duty……….guess who got summon on April 5th……me……..*sob*

I woke quite early today. The breeze of spring is wisping to and fro about my room. Birds are finally chirping near my window, as if it is welcoming the change of weather sending away winter till next year. But for the last few days, it has actually felt like summer, a joyous change for a lot of people, including myself.

Sitting here drinking my coffee and typing in my entry of today. I get hit with the sudden pang of loneliness, I don’t know why that happens, so I just brush it off aside, everything is going so well for me as of these days, why did I have that sudden negavitity in me? Maybe to remind myself that for every postive in life, there must be an equal negative in life. Just bring me down just a notch but I am grateful for that reminder.

Tomas (my godbro boyfreind) and I also got into a fun little bantering over the concept of rage. For we are on different end of the spectrum. He thinks rage is all cosuming and cannot be control versus myself who thinks that rage can be tame and control, I feel that emotions are like a scale, one must find harmony and balance in order to understand life to the fullest. hehehe maybe it a Virgo mind that tend to overanalayze these most basic concepts. But it challenges me, to take things to the next levels.

So let ask you guys this, what do you think rage is?

I did it. I am getting politically involved. Being a voter isn’t just enough anymore. I signed up to volunteer for the Kerry campaign The thought of having Bush being 4 more years as our president turns my stomach. This is the year to get my ass off and do something about it. He has done so much wrong to the people of this country that I feel empowered to fight for my rights and do the right thing. Whose says your voice won’t be heard or your vote doesn’t count. Lame excuses. People forget our most basic rights and freedoms and to not use it is a shame. Time to get united.

If I can do it, you can too!!!

This was the Yellowworld meetup that held this past weekend. San Francisco held its annual Asian American Film Festival and the Californian group decided to get together to watch Lest We Forget.

The group itself, half of them I do hang out with and they are a great bunch of people. We were also a bunch of goofballs. But cool nevertheless. But the movie itself consist of two parts. A short about a Sikh-American family who was stranded in the desert and because of the father’s turban, they didn’t get the help they needed until the very end. Because of his turban, he was branded a “terrorist” and also of people’s stigmas and sterotypes also impeded on their help. The younger generation also dealt with the issues of identity, religion and coping with those stigmas and sterotypes. Very poigant because I can identify each member of the family and their tribulations.

The second one is the actual film itself where it deals with Japanese internees and the current treatment of Middle Eastern nationalities and South Asians in the U.S. after 9-11. The similarities between what happen in the 1940’s to the Japanese and the present with the Middle Easterns and South Asian is eeeriely similar. To think that in the 21th century the same witch hunt of minorities is still very prevalent today. It’s makes me wonder if China decides to attack America, would we have our same rights taken away? This movie is a must see if it comes to your town. It will leave you wondering and pondering on our basic rights that we take forgranted.

Dear Vince Vuong:

I met you through a friend and thought you were very smart and intelligent, full of fire and one eloquant of guy who has ambition and goals. A guy who came from a good background and I thought you will be a good guy who I wanted to know you better. But you had freinds who always have screw you over and I felt pity for you. Maybe it is my maternal instincts of helping people when you are in need and somehow we ended up dating.

You told me you had to go visit some friends in New York City….and you call me in LA with no money and you had to get back to SF for an interview. That should have been my first sign that you are not who you seem to be…… I should have hung up on you that day……but I didn’t, I pity you and rush to save you…..

Then I took you to meet with my buddies and my coworkers. None of them like you, saying that you vain and arrogant….that should have been my second sign… but I believe in the benefit of the doubt….what a fool I was……

My friends up north knows about you….apparently you left a trail of broken hearts and sums of huge loans to people. Including two of my buddies….they warned me and I chose to instead watch you closely…how stupid can I be??? I should have put an end to it.

When you call me again that you were stuck in LA. That was the final straw. I saw right through you and your lies. But yet I save you once again.

You still have some of my stuff and constantly told me you will return it and you never follow through on your promises and I have since let you go.

My last words to you?

You are a scumbug, a jerk, a man who doesn’t deserve any form of happiness, how dare you take advantage of my good faith and kindness. For once in my life I follow my brain instead of my heart , for if I did, I would have been devastated and might never be able in my abilities to trust guys again. But I have learned from it and grown as well, for you only did one good thing for me, which is to mature from this incident and the only thing I willl give you credit for. I have come to my own successes while you have continue digging yourself deeper into a hole, a hole of not hope and dreams but of deceit and despair. For you chose to turn your back on what’s real and created a wall of lies to the point where these lies become reality. I don’t feel any pity for you Vince for there is none. I feel indifferent to you and that is probably the worse thing I can offer you.

Goodbye Vince, for this will be my final closure in this chapter of my life, I wish I have never met you but c’est le vie.

Dear Ah Ja Po (Grandma):

There are so much I wish I say to you if you were still with us. The most important thing is that I wanted to say “I’m sorry", I am so sorry I was the only grandchild you wasn’t by your bedside when you move on. The guilt of it have never left me. I know how much it means to mommy to make it back to you to be by your bedside. I hope you understand that I had to stay back with Daddy so we can make the money to paid off the plane tickets. I was so happy that Mommy and May Kay and Seong Seong made it to see you one last time but I don’t have that luxery. Next year, I promise to pay my final respects to you when I go back to Malaysia and get to say my goodbyes to you properly. I am also sorry that Daddy took us away from Malaysia to come to the United States. I know how painful that can be to have your daughter leave to a forgien land where she doesn’t know the language but they did it for us to have a better life and education. I promise that I will make sure Mommy will be able to retire to once she is from. I promise to take care of her. You have nothing to worried about Ah Ja Po. I will become successful and make our family proud as I am already a disappointment already for being something I did not choose to be.
